Placards for the Transportation of Hazardous Materials
Regulations require that hazardous materials or dangerous goods shipments be identified with proper placards, according to different standards. In the United States, Title 49 of the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR) specifies the conditions. In Canada, it's the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, now known as the Clear Language Regulations, which specifies situations where shipments must display dangerous goods placards. There are also specific requirements for shipments of dangerous goods by sea.

Types of Hazardous Materials or Dangerous Goods Placards

Our placards come in several materials, tagboard (new and improved!), rigid vinyl, removable self-stick vinyl, and permanent self-stick vinyl. Our placards are regulation size 10.75" x 10.75". They include: worded, non-worded, un numbered, blank, flip style, rail, orange panels, kits, and more.

Worded Placards Designed in accordance with 49 CFR 172.519, DOT worded placards can be used for domestic highway, rail and water shipments and are only compliant within the United States.

Non-Worded Placards
These Placards meet TDG Part 4, Dangerous Goods Safety Marks and IMDG requirements.

Preprinted and Blank Placards
Our UN numbered placards meet DOT specifications to be chemical specific with the combination of hazard classification, hazard division, and 4-digit identification number.

3.5" and 4" Self-Stick Numbers
Our vinyl number decals are pressure sensitive and printed with 4"-high numbers in black ink on clear Mylar for orange panels, or are printed with 3.5"-high numbers in black ink on white vinyl for placards and labels.

DuraHolder™
The DuraHolder™ is a durable plastic all weather placard holder for trucks, boxcars, bulk stations, sea containers and any transport unit where hazardous materials need to be identified.

Flip-Style Metal Holders
These durable flip-file units contain multiple screen-printed legends that meet DOT specifications. Placards features: 0.031" back plate to protect against wind, fade-resistant acrylic paint, stainless steel clips to hold legend panels securely in place, and rounded corners for easy handling.

Holders
Our placard holders are sure to keep your placards secure and properly displayed. They come in a variety of durable materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, and our most popular Duraholder™.

Limited Quantities Mark
ADR 2006 requirements stipulate that all transportable packages of dangerous goods or hazardous materials which are transported under the limited quantities exceptions need to be clearly identified.

Marine Pollutant Mark
Help protect marine life and stay compliant with 49 CFR, IMDG, and TDG part 4 with our Marine Pollutant regulation size safety marks and placards.

Missing Placard Kits
Whether you're missing a placard, replacing a worn out placard, stopped by police or at a weigh station, our this kit may be your solution.

Numbering Kits
Use 4" black ink numbers on orange panels or 3.5" black ink numbers on blank placards to display the UN number of hazardous material being shipped.

Orange and UN Number Panels
Our orange panels comply with 49 CFR Part 172.332 and come in three materials: self-stick vinyl, tagboard, and rigid vinyl.

Rail Placards
Placards are critical sources of hazard information. Our rail placards measure 15.25" x 15.25" and are regulation size with a white square background for quick identification.
